MEET DR. Ebsworth
Dr. Ebsworth was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and grew up in the historic town of San German where along with her siblings worked with their parents, both pharmacists, who owned the local community pharmacy. She began her formal college education in the biology program of the University of Puerto Rico’s Mayaguez Campus. On her sophomore year, she participated in a college exchange program attending the University of Massachusetts’ Amherst Campus (UMass) for a semester and while there was offered a transfer to complete her bachelor’s degree in science. Dr. Ebsworth made the Dean’s List and graduated Cum Laude in 2001. At UMass, she discovered a passion for research.
Dr. Ebsworth continued her studies at the prestigious University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences where she obtained her Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences in 2004 with her research titled: Archvillain’s role during muscle myogenesis. Her experiences with research combined with the values instilled in her growing up in a family of medical professionals fueled her desire to pursue a career in medicine.
Dr. Ebsworth moved to Miami, Florida to attended Barry University’s School of Podiatry Medicine and Surgery. While at Barry, she made the Dean’s List and was the recipient of Barry University’s Podiatry Medicine Academic Scholarship. As part of her training at Barry, Dr. Ebsworth completed multiple externships at area hospitals such as: Kendall Regional Hospital, Hollywood Regional Hospital, Mt. Sinai Hospital and Palmetto Hospital. She graduated from Barry in 2009 and was accepted at the Podiatry Medicine and Surgery residency program at the James A. Healey VA Hospital in Tampa, Florida.
Dr. Ebsworth had the opportunity to train with a medical team that provides the highest care in surgical and clinical podiatric medicine to our nation’s veterans. She received extensive clinical training in diabetic wound/ulcer care, as well as fore foot and rear foot surgery for three years.
Dr. Ebsworth began her professional career at the private practice of Advanced Foot and Ankle Specialists, in Brandon, Florida. During her tenure, Dr. Ebsworth achieved board certifications with both the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM) and American Board of Podiatric Surgery (ABPS). Dr. Ebsworth’s passion for tackling difficult surgery cases was rewarded when she garnered the ABPS’ Board Certification in Foot Surgery. Also, Dr. Ebsworth honed her skills in diabetic wound/ulcer care as a regular provider at the former Brandon Wound Care Center, as well as at the Memorial Hospital Wound Care Center in Tampa, Florida. Furthermore, Dr. Ebsworth helped develop a podiatry medicine outreach program to provide services to the bedridden and elderly patients at several assisted living facilities (ALS) and nursing homes in Hillsborough County, Florida.
In 2019, Dr. Ebsworth was recruited by the VA Hospital System in Tampa, Florida to help address the growing demand of podiatry medical care at the VA’s Lakeland Clinic in Polk County, Florida. Dr. Ebsworth enjoyed working with our Nation’s veterans yet missed the opportunity to be true to her Christian rooted ministry of providing care to the elderly. Therefore, she decided embarked in a venture to once again provide podiatric medical care to the bedridden and elderly patients in the area. Furthermore, Dr. Ebsworth volunteered to work at the James A Haley Veteran’s Hospital Emergency Department as part of the VA’s COVID pandemic response team from March to October of 2020.
Dr. Ebsworth has been living in the Brandon/Valrico area with her husband and their four children, Anabela, Peter, Paul and Joseph, since 2008. She is a native Spanish speaker who is very devoted to her Christian roots of helping others in need.
Dr. Gloried Ebsworth was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and is graduate of University of Massachusetts. She obtained her podiatry degree at Barry University in Miami, Fl. Her residency was in James A. Haley Veteran’s Hospital.
Dr. Gloried Ebsworth has 10 years of experience in podiatry medicine, surgery and wound care, with special interest in limb salvage. She is board certified in the Board of Podiatry Medicine as well as American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
Dr. Gloried Ebsworth worked at James A Haley Veteran’s Hospital Emergency Department during the COVID pandemic. She lives in the Brandon, Fl with her husband and four children.
